Art Lessons
Supplies
Your student will need supplies!
You can either purchase the supplies yourself or, if you are local, rent most of them from me.
If you choose to rent, a refundable deposit will be required. The deposit is returned at the end of the session if the supplies are still in working order once returned. The only supply I cannot rent out is paint. You will still need to supply the paint. The supplies will be available for pick-up and drop-off in a bin on my front door step. You get to keep the paper and canvas!

If you choose to purchase the supplies, please purchase the recommended brands below. I have taught art a long time and through trail and error I have figured out the cheapest supplies that will still perform well for my students. Your student will be frustrated if their supplies do not perform as they should and it will hold them back from their learning. I recommend either Michaels or Paint Works (art store in Okotoks)

A palette
you can find cheap ones at Dollarama or buy from an art store. I recommend one like this that has lots of spots for paint colours plus large mixing areas

Brush cleaner (optional but works wonders!)

5 paint colours
Buy BASIC brand from Michaels. Don't be temped to buy a cheaper brand, they will not mix well! They often go on a bit of a sale. Smallest bottles are fine.
Paint Brushes:
Buy short handled acrylic brushes. Avoid variety packs as they are usually low quality and your student will be frustrated with a brush that doesn't work. Buy from the "Stage one" or "Stage two" categories from Michaels. We just need three brushes in different sizes that have flat bristles.
Cadmium Yellow medium (not light or pale)
Titanium White
Alizarin Crimson
