To Expect
To go with the maternity dresses I supply, wear a bandeaor strapless bra if you have one. If not then we can hide the straps. Also wear lacy underwear. Grey, black or purple work well for the purple dress and beige, white or cream for the cream colored dress. For my other outfits, light colored undergarments work the best.
In addition to the maternity gowns provided, you're welcome to bring some of your own outfits. Light neutrals tend to be best. Depending on the style you like you can wear tanks tops that we can pull up to show the belly, blouses that can be left unbuttoned, or long maxi dresses that are form fitting. For the bottom, plain maxi skirts or jeans that have a zipper work the best. The zipper would be left unzipped to help show off the belly.

Try to dress to match well with mom in both color and formality. If mom is more casual, then dad should lean towards simple collared shirts and jeans. A dressier look would be a fancy dress shirt. If mom is wearing light colors then dad should follow suite. You don't have to perfectly match but aviod a big contrast.

In addition to the maternity gowns provided, you're welcome to bring some of your own outfits. You'll want to wear something form fitting to show off your belly. Maxi dresses or skirts are great for this. You can also just stick with jeans and shirts. Free flowing dresses and shirts work well too as long as they can be pulled towards your body when you put your hands on your belly to show it off. Layering is great for photos. Adding scarfs, large jewelry, sweaters, vest or anything that provides a lot of texture without hiding your tummy is great. Boots are also great in photos. Try to mix neutrals and pops of color.

Your maternity session is all about your comfort. Please let me know what your comfort level is with showing your belly or more. I have two different maternity gowns pictured in the examples above. One is a cream lace and the other is a solid purple. Typically I use the lacey one for the studio and the purple one for outdoor but we can switch things up too. I also have other simple outfits and props. Other outfits are provided by you but please text me images so I can plan poses to fit the outfits. If you have any props such as baby shoes or baby's name I can do my best to incorporate them to work in the photos if you provide me pictures of them. Dad is welcome in the photos.
